Setting up an invoice printer (desktop)

The receipt printer is placed on the payment device. To print from Zoyya, it is not enough that the printer is installed on the computer; it is also necessary to have printing support that allows Zoyya to access the printers installed on that computer.

Without printing support, Zoyya does not communicate with the printer, so the invoice is not sent to print from the application.

This article is about the affiliate Zoyya web app on PC.

When to use this option?

Printer setup is used when:

  1. you are setting up a bill printout for the first time,
  2. the computer does not show the printer in Zoyya,
  3. the physical printer has been changed,
  4. the invoice is printed on the wrong printer,
  5. POS printer does not print Croatian letters correctly,
  6. automatic printing should be turned on or checked,
  7. a print test should be done before working with users.

Operation steps

Opening printer settings

  1. On your computer, open Zoyya.
  2. In the left menu, open Receipts.
  3. Open the Cash register.
  4. Open Cash register settings.
  5. Open Payment devices.
  6. Open the device for which the printer is being installed.
  7. Open the Printer Settings tab.

Installing print support

  1. If the warning Printing support is not installed or the printer is not connected is displayed, click Download.
  2. Install the downloaded print support.
  3. Close and reopen your browser or installed application.
  4. Turn on Apps on device permission.
  5. Please refresh the page or restart the application.
  6. Return to the Printer Settings tab.

Selecting a printer

  1. In the Printer name field, select the printer.
  2. In the Printer Type field, select ROLL for POS printer or A4 for office printing.
  3. For ROLL type, enter Printer Brand and Printer Model when this information is required.
  4. If the printer does not print Croatian letters correctly, turn on Use only English alphabet characters.
  5. Change the advanced settings only when you need to synchronize the POS printer.
  6. Click Save.

Printer testing

  1. After saving, stay on the Printer Settings tab.
  2. Click Test Printer.
  3. See if the test print came out on the correct printer.
  4. When the test fails, the printer must be turned on, connected and installed on the computer.
  5. When Zoyya still doesn't see the printer, check the print support and Apps on device permission again.

Important: A printer installed on a computer is not enough to print from Zoyya; the printer must be selected on the payment device and available through print support.

The user opens the device, then the Printer Settings tab. In that tab, he selects the printer, print type and additional settings for the POS printer.

Print support

When printing support is not installed or the printer is not connected, the application displays a warning:

Printing support not installed or printer not connected

On Windows and Mac computers, the Download option is displayed. By installing this support, Zoyya gets access to printers that the computer already sees.

After installation, it is necessary to close and reopen the browser or the installed Zoyya application.

"Apps on device" permission

The browser sometimes blocks communication with programs installed on the computer. Then it is necessary to turn on the Apps on device permission.

In the browser:

  1. Click the icon to the left of the address bar.
  2. Find Apps on device.
  3. Turn on permission.
  4. Refresh the page.

In the installed application:

  1. Click the three dots in the upper right corner.
  2. Open App Information.
  3. Find Apps on device.
  4. Turn on permission.
  5. Close and restart the application.

Main printer settings

In the Printer settings tab there are:

  1. Printer name - selection of the printer installed on the computer.
  2. Type of printer - choice between ROLL and A4.
  3. Printer brand - data for the POS printer on a roll.
  4. Printer model - data for a POS printer on a roll.
  5. Uses only English alphabet characters - replaces Croatian letters with simpler letters when the printer does not print ticks correctly.
  6. Additional settings - advanced settings for the POS printer.
  7. Test printer - print test on the selected printer.

ROLL is used for the POS printer. A4 is used for standard office printing.

The type of printer determines the appearance of the invoice printout. A4 prints a full PDF receipt, and ROLL prints a narrow thermal receipt adapted to a POS printer.

Automatic printing

Printer selection and automatic printing are not the same setting.

The printer determines where the invoice is printed. Automatic invoice printing determines whether printing is started immediately after the invoice is issued.
