How to delete a product (desktop)

In this article, you will learn how to delete a product from the price list on desktop and what happens to its quantity, receipts, and sales history.

Before deleting a product


Deleting removes the product from the active price list, but it does not correct its recorded quantity. If the quantity must be reconciled, do that in stock records before deleting the product.


Steps


  1. Open Settings > Price list > Products.
  2. Open the product type and select the product.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Check the product name and confirm.


What happens after deletion?


  • the product is removed from the active price list and cannot be selected on a new receipt
  • previously issued receipts, receipt items, and sales history remain unchanged
  • the recorded product quantity is not automatically reset to zero
  • earlier documents connected to the product remain in the records


Important: Deleting a product does not correct existing documents or quantities. Before deleting it, check whether the records must be completed or the quantity reconciled first.
